Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job description

A long-term opportunity, inside IR35 exists on a major infrastructure project in East London.

You experience managing subcontractor packages on a highway's projects for tier one/principal contactors in the UK, will be advantageous.

Your duties will include -

• To support the Commercial Manager providing contractual and commercial advice
• Ensure the contract requirements are complied with in full
• Conduct financial reporting to the required standard and to the timetable.
• Subcontract procurement and administration including:
  • Timely instructions to the supply chain with the appropriate governance.
  • Pay the subcontractors in accordance with contractual arrangements.
  • Manage supply chain variations effectively.
• Produce early warnings and compensation events
• Risk Management
• Cashflow forecasting
• Ensure effective control of costs
• Weekly reporting
• Liaison within the team, with other teams and the supply chain.

The following requirements are essential -

• BSc Quantity Surveying or similar with RICS
• Planning to attain a relevant post-degree qualification
• Similar experience with a tier one or principal civil engineering contractor in the UK
• Proficient using the NEC suite of contracts.
• Full driving licence
• Computer literate
• Experience of civil engineering construction and specifically highways
