Senior Project Engineer - Piling Works

Location: Clwyd
Duration: September 2026 - approx 5 months
Hours: Monday to Friday (project-dependent)
Rate: £400/day ltd
Start Date: September 2026

Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join a major piling and ground engineering project based in Clwyd. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of specialist piling works on a high-profile industrial project.
Responsibilities

• Supporting the Project Manager with the planning and delivery of piling operations.
• Managing engineering activities across multiple work fronts.
• Reviewing and implementing RAMS, ITPs, temporary works and construction methodologies.
• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme requirements.
• Monitoring quality standards and maintaining project documentation.
• Managing technical queries and providing engineering solutions on site.
• Producing progress reports and supporting commercial and programme requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Senior Project Engineer on piling, foundations or ground engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of bored piling, CFA piling, rotary piling, diaphragm walls, sheet piling or foundation works.
• Experience managing engineering teams and subcontractors.
• Ability to review and implement RAMS, ITPs and quality documentation.
• Strong knowledge of construction health and safety procedures.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• CSCS Card (essential).
• SMSTS or SSSTS preferred.
• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
