This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced procurement team at an exciting and important time as we support the Council's digital transformation priorities and continue to develop excellent procurement practice. We are recruiting to two Senior Procurement Officer roles within the IT and Corporate category, offering excellent development opportunities for individuals who are keen to build their experience, confidence and capability in public sector procurement.

About the Role

You will play an important role in supporting the delivery of forward-thinking, flexible, creative, commercial and collaborative procurement activity, helping the team to exemplify excellent procurement practice. The Councils procurement team is aligned to the following strategic areas;

• Adults, Public Health & Children's
• Corporate & IT
• Construction, Infrastructure and Highways
• FM, Environment and Transport

The two Senior Procurement Officer roles will be aligned to the IT and Corporate category. These roles provide an excellent opportunity to work across a varied and high-profile category, supporting procurements that enable key Council services and digital transformation priorities. We are looking for candidates with experience or a strong interest in public sector procurement who can bring enthusiasm, sound judgement, attention to detail and a commitment to developing their knowledge of public sector procurement.

There may also be opportunities to support or move into other category areas, depending on service need and future team requirements.

About You

We are looking for candidates that can demonstrate

• Knowledge of public sector procurement processes.
• An awareness of electronic procurement processes currently utilised by Kirklees Council.
• An awareness of considering social value principles in procurement.
• Experience of managing relationships and communication on all levels.
• Ability to analyse, record and present financial information.
• A willingness to work towards achieving the Level 4 Foundation Diploma in Purchasing and Supply, or equivalent.

This is a hybrid working role, with office working required in Huddersfield for a minimum of one day each week, as well as occasional additional attendance based on the needs of the service.

Interviews are scheduled to take place on 20 and 21 October in Huddersfield town centre.
