Good qality reflective spervision is provided to all social workers and senior practitioners.

As a Senior Practitioner yo will provide leadership in the team, provide both spport and mentoring to newly qalified or less experienced staff, facilitate reflective grop spervision, oversee the team's dty service, deptise for the Team Manager when needed and have responsibility to lead in a practice area.

There will be opportnities for yor own professional development and for being part of developing or team and service.

Children in Care

Children in Care (CIC) teams work with children and yong people p to the age of 18 who are in care- they're nable to live at home and are either placed with a foster carer or live in residential homes. They work with children and yong people to ensre their experiences in care is a good one and that the work ndertaken prepares them for their transition into leaving care or retrn home to family. The CIC teams receive cases in proceedings after the first hearing, they visit children and yong people in placement, develop permanency plans which inclde Special Gardianship Order (SGO) and adoption, ndertake life-story work to enable a child to nderstand the reasons for being in care and also spport children to retrn home to birth family.

Skills, knowledge and Experience

A recognised social work qalification i.e. Diploma, degree or masters in social work, CQSW, CSS or eqivalent, with crrent registration with Social Work England as a registered social worker.

Evidence of contining professional development, aligned to any relevant Professional Competency/Capability frameworks or Knowledge and Skills Statements.

Significant experience of social work, demonstrating a comprehensive and p to date nderstanding of all relevant legislation, reglation and gidance.

Experience of mentoring both Social Work stdents and newly qalified and experienced Social Work staff, being a sbject matter expert in professional social work practice.

Experience of chairing meetings involving clients, family members and/or carers and other mlti-agency professionals.

Developing strong relationships with partners, other agencies and the local commnity to achieve joint objectives and offer a spportive framework for children, yong people and families.

In depth nderstanding of delivery of vale for money interventions balanced against need.

Proven track record of clear decision making in order to highlight and limit the potential risks associated with intervention.

The role reqires yo to be mobile throghot a wider operational area inclding travelling arond the conty of Essex and beyond, transporting service sers and their belongings and to be able to do so in an emergency. Driving licence and car or the ability to meet the mobility reqirements of the role throgh other means is essential.
