Job summary

Perinatal Senior Nursery Nurse permanent post working on Ribblemere Mother and baby Unit ChorleyAn exciting opportunity for an experienced Nursery Nurse to become part of our dedicated perinatal team .

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will receive appropriate specialist perinatal training. The shift pattern in the Mother and Baby Unit is three long days three weeks a month and one four long day week. All staff are expected to rotate onto night shift also. Your role will be to support mums and their families to look after their babies/promote bonding. In particular the senior nursery nurse will ensure that PQN and BFI standards are met and appropriate audit and training is delivered. This is a new role to provide leadership within the nursery nurse team supported by the wider MDT.

  • One of the following qualifications: Degree in Childcare and Education or Playwork Degree level in Early Years and Education, Degree Level qualification in Children's Care, Learning and Development
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development that supports clinical practice
Knowledge

Essential

  • Can demonstrate an understanding and knowledge base of mental health conditions and their treatments.
  • Can demonstrate a working knowledge of physical health conditions and the complications that this can cause to patients experiencing mental ill health.
Experience

Essential

  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team structure.
  • Experience of assessing, planning, implementing and reviewing care needs.
Skills

Essential

  • Excellent communication, listening, decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to change and have an awareness of the NHS Plan
  • An Ability to understand how research and audits effect and benefit nursing practice
