Job summary

We are excited to be recruiting a part-time (0.8 wte) Band 6Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Exeter and East Devon, Moods,Emotions, and Relationships (MERS/CAMHS) Pathway within Children and Family HealthDevon.

This role is offered as a fixed term contract until the endof March 2027. A Secondment would be considered, with approval from your linemanager.

Main duties of the job

You will provide specialist assessment, formulation, triage,screening and intervention for young people experiencing a range of moderate tosevere mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, self-harm, andemotional dysregulation. You will play a key role in delivering evidence-based,person-centred care to young people and their families/carers, workingcollaboratively within a team to provide early and effective intervention.

The post holder will deliver high quality comprehensivemental health services. The role involves managing a defined caseload with afocus on providing expert assessment, formulation and evidence-based treatmentfor children and young people with complex mental health difficulties and theirparents/carers in line with NICE guidance. Collaborative working with a widerange of statutory and non-statutory agencies is central to this role.

The post holder will contribute to the multi-disciplinaryapproach of the team, providing integrated healthcare for children acrossChildren and Family Health Devon. The post holder will bring professionalexpertise, skills and knowledge to multi-disciplinary team work.

With a focus on providing high quality, safeand compassionate care to children/young people the post holder will engage inteam and service development including participating in audit, evaluation andreview.

• A professional qualification at degree level or equivalent e.g. Psychological profession, Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or equivalent.
• Professional registration/accreditation with a recognised body, e.g. NMC, HCPC, Social Work England, UKCP, BABCP

Desirable

• Recognised qualification in evidenced based therapeutic, mental health interventions for children/young people and their families/carers
• Post graduate qualification relevant to specialism
• Clinical Supervision qualification

Experience

Essential

• Substantial experience of managing an extensive and complex caseload and working with children/young people presenting with a range of complex mental health presentations.
• Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment.
• Experience of delivering model based psychological therapy

Desirable

• Participation in user involvement in services.
• Mentoring students in line with professional requirements

• Ability to be mobile across a geographical area in a timely manner and in accordance with service need.
• Computer literacy.
