Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week/flexible days and/or hours (Mon-Fri)

Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum maximum depending on location and experience

This is a new position created within our Guarantee and Wholesale Solutions (GWS) division. You will join the Bank as a Senior Manager, working in a team responsible for our guarantee operations and Covid-19 portfolio management. During the last year, the Government launched several schemes to support British businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic. The British Business Bank works with delivery partners (DPs) to deliver those schemes and this position has been created to manage the guarantee operations, ensuring transparency, consistency and value for money across our DP network. These schemes include the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS) and the Coronavirus Large Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CLBILS). This role will cover both schemes and their successor - the Recovery Loan Scheme - and any potential new products or initiatives led by GWS.

Reporting to the Director, Outsourced Guarantee Operations, you will support supplier relationship management within the Bank and take ownership of the commercial relationship for the guarantee schemes. You will have responsibility for the performance management of DPs and you will help to monitor and manage the people, processes and technologies that support the guarantee operations centre. You will represent the GWS Guarantee Product Operations function on relevant working groups and steering committees, and you will effectively manage and mitigate known and emerging risks in relation to the guarantee operations centre, ensuring cross-team collaboration. You will implement continuous improvement of operational processes to ensure scalability and efficiency, and you will support the development of the long-term sourcing strategy.

It is essential that you have substantial experience in the financial services sector and broad experience in the design and delivery of complex operational projects and experience of in-sourcing is desirable. You will have knowledge of UK lenders and significant experience with one of more of the following: operating models, global business services (GBS), shared services and business process outsourcing (BPO) strategy and diagnostics, process reengineering, transition, and optimisation. Previous experience of working with DPs would be desirable, in addition to existing knowledge of our Covid-19 response schemes.
