Person specificationKnowledge, Skills & Performance Essential criteria - Holds acceptable primary medical qualification
- Demonstrable postgraduate training
- Competence in managing medical emergencies
- Evidence of clinical competencies in their medical specialty
- An appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
- A commitment to personal CPD
Desirable criteria - Awards/distinctions whilst studying for 1st degree
- Logbook
- Valid Life Support Course (ACLS, ALS, ATLS, APLS or similar)
- Involvement in Research & Publication
Safety & Quality Essential criteria - Understanding of the basic principles of evidence-based practice, patient safety, audit, clinical risk management, and clinical quality improvement initiatives
- Ability to prioritise clinical need
- Ability to maximise safety and minimise risk
- Time management skills
Desirable criteria - Completed an audit/quality improvement project
Maintaining Trust Essential criteria - Honesty, integrity, awareness of ethical dilemmas, respect for confidentiality
