Person specification

Attainments

Essential criteria

• Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists or equivalent
• Fully registered medical practitioner with license to practice (GMC)
• Major interest in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and/or Critical Care

Desirable criteria

• On Specialist Register

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria

• Evidence of knowledge and skills equivalent to that expected after 4/5 years anaesthetic junior doctor training
• Good communication skills

Audit

Essential criteria

• Knowledge and commitment to medical audit
• Interest in research

Desirable criteria

• Publications in peer reviewed journals

Experience

Essential criteria

• ST3+ level experience, as required by the Royal College of Anaesthetists
• Experience in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia

Desirable criteria

• Experience at Middle Grade level
• Experience outside the speciality
• Some teaching experience
• TOE experience

Other
