We are recruiting a Senior Fair Trading Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.Working hours: 37 hours per week

We pay an attractive salary of £36,581- £39,481 and offer access to training and development opportunities.As a Senior Fair Trading Officer, you will play a vital role in protecting consumers, supporting reputable businesses, and maintaining confidence in the local marketplace, with the main responsibility focusing on animal health and feed enforcement. The role combines investigation, enforcement, and advisory work, requiring you to tackle complex consumer and business issues, gather evidence, prepare legal cases, and represent the authority in court when necessary. You will work closely with businesses, consumers, and partner agencies to promote compliance, resolve disputes, and deliver positive outcomes. Through inspections, intelligence-led investigations, and practical advice, you will help create a fair, safe, and trusted trading environment across the Borough
For the role, we ask that you have: - A relevant professional qualification (please refer to the job description for what we can accept for this position)
- Specialised and in-depth knowledge in one or more areas of Trading Standards work, with the responsibility to inform and update other officers on those areas.
- Proven experience in a Trading Standards role.
- A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to respond to service requests, attend meetings, visit clients.
