Education/Qualification

Essential criteria

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
• Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable criteria

• Prince 2 or similar project management qualification

Experience

Essential criteria

• Previous experience of contract management and commissioning health services.
• Experience of managing or commissioning complex care packages
• Knowledge of effective budget management including resource planning

Skills & Knowledge

Essential criteria

• Good understanding and knowledge of commissioning, procurement and contracting including of the commissioning cycle
• Knowledge of the provider market and recent policy in respect of Continuing Care and health and social care services for children, young people
• Ability to analyse and interpret information and evaluate issues
• Ability to prioritise and manage own workload to deliver required outcomes and to contribute to the overall improvement of services
• Ability to make decisions autonomously, when required, on difficult issues, working to tight and often changing timescales
• Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
• Sensitive in managing complex communications with the public
