Experience

Essential criteria
  • 12 months experience in a professional contract as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent


Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GSCE level 4/C or Level 2 equivalent, including Maths and English (ECCTIS is required for overseas qualifications)
  • Hold a full Care Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (NVQ MUST be from an accredited awarding body).


Experience

Essential criteria
  • Competent in Band 3 skills as described by trust.• Taking Clinical Observations and Recording on Vitals/Paper • Venepuncture • Glucose Monitoring • Pregnancy Testing • Urine Analysis (Strip) • Taking Fecal Samples • Carry out 12 lead ECG • Wound Observation • Simple Wound Dressing • Removal of Peripheral Cannula • Take Swabs (e.g. MRSA) • Observing patients for signs of agitation or distress (Clinical holding/Restraint) • Support and Assist New Staff- Buddy System/Care Certificate Supervisor


Desirable criteria
  • Dermatology experience.


Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office: Word, Excel, access and Power-point
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and support others
