Job description

Are you confident navigating complex SEND casework, including appeals to the SEND Tribunal?

Do you have experience supporting children and young people receiving Education Other Than at School (EOTAS)?

We are seeking a knowledgeable and driven SEND Tribunal and EOTAS Caseworker to join our team. In this specialist role, youll focus on managing complex cases where children and young people may be educated outside of traditional school settings. You will also lead on cases involving appeals to the First Tier SEND Tribunal.

You will be working directly with schools, families and children and SEND professionals to work to better outcomes for our children and young people.

We are looking for someone with an in-depth understanding of the SEND legal framework, experience working in case management within a statutory SEND context and excellent communication interpersonal skills and written skills.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express themselves spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
