Job description

The role works closely with children, young people, parents and carers to offer high quality professional advice and support, co-ordinating multi agency statutory assessments for children and young people identified as having special educational needs and/or disabilities.
  • Extensive work experience with SEND in education, social care, or a partner statutory/voluntary setting.
  • Experience co-ordinating multi-agency statutory assessment processes and producing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Practical understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, relevant legislation (e.g., Children and Families Act 2014, Education Act 2002), and a graduated approach to learning needs.

At Knowsley Council we will consider requests for flexible working. For most roles, the following types of flexibility are usually possible: flexible hours, working from home, compressed hours, part-time. There is a requirement for you to attend your work base at least 2 days per week - Mondays and Wednesdays.
