We are seeking a dedicated, resilient, and enthusiastic Year 4 Class Teacher to join a challenging yet rewarding primary school in Watford from September 2026. The successful candidate will be confident in delivering engaging, structured, and differentiated lessons while creating a positive classroom environment built on strong relationships, consistency, and high expectations. You will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and well-differentiated lessons for a Year 4 class.
  • Establish clear routines and maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning.
  • Support pupils with varying abilities, needs, and barriers to learning.
  • Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and plan next steps.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, engagement, and positive behaviour.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and families to support pupil development.
  • Contribute to wider school life, enrichment activities, and improvement initiatives.
  • Promote safeguarding and the wellbeing of all pupils.

Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 2.
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective differentiation.
  • Confident classroom management skills and the ability to set clear boundaries.
  • A patient, adaptable, and resilient approach to supporting pupils.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
