We are excited to announce the LSCFT Special Needs School Nursing Service are expanding their service to 5 new schools across our Pennine and Lancashire footprint. We are now recruiting for experienced and motivated band 3, 5 and 6 nurses who are passionate about supporting and advocating for children and young people with complex and additional health needs.

Main duties of the job

Special Needs School Nurses provide a unique service for children and young people with complex and additional health needs to ensure their health needs can be safely met so they can participate as fully as possible in all aspects of school life. Nurses assess the health needs of children and young people in schools and deliver training, guidance and education to school staff to enable then to safely meet the needs children and young people when they attend school. We also offer health promotion, referrals and signposting to other health services to support holistic health needs.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your existing experience, assessment and care planning skills of children and young people with complex health and additional needs.All newly recruited nurses are offered an extensive induction programme and on-going supervision to support them in their role and develop their knowledge and skills.
