School Crossing Patrol Officer- Parkwood Academy (based at Melborne Avene)

Permanent, Term Time

£13.46 per hor

Location: Chelmsford

Working Style: Commnity-based worker

Spport schools once in the morning and once in the afternoon, ensring the safety of all pedestrians crossing the road to and from school and its srronding locations.

We are looking for a pnctal and reliable individal, who is approachable and enjoys engaging with the pblic.

This position is for 7.5 hors per week approximately, with a holiday pay element inclded. Yo will need to be available to work dring the 39 weeks of the academic year, for the following work pattern -

Mon - Fri - Mornings 8:1 - 8:55 am

Mon - Thrs -Afternoons 15: - 15:45 pm

And Fri only - Afternoon 13:1 - 13:55 pm

Responsibilities:

To have regard for the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility impaired people wishing to se the crossing point.

Maintain reglar contact with the schools attended by children sing the crossing.

Reglarly assess the risks associated with operating at the crossing site in order to identify any problems. Report problems and defects to spervisor.

Assist in the preparation of reports on accidents and failre to stop incidents and other incidents occrring at the crossing site.

Ensre that all niform and eqipment provided is maintained in good condition and replacements reqested when needed.

Give clear signals to drivers when stopping traffic and ensring that the traffic remains at rest ntil the road at the crossing point is clear of pedestrians.
