The Opportnity

The Road Safety Assistant will be working within Safer Essex Roads Partnership working to deliver Vision Zero, zero road deaths or serios injries in Essex by 4. This role will be working with partner organisations of SERP and with pblic to commnicate road safety messages.

This role will deliver the road safety programme for edcation in primary schools. The post holder will be reqired to work across the whole conty, however, to keep travel to a minimm, the grop of schools that yo will be assigned will be as close to yor home location as possible. Yo will report to the Road Safety Team Leader who will allocate work, provide training and development as reqired.

Yo will be able to commnicate comfortably with both adlts and children to spport the road safety programme, and yor enthsiasm and self-motivation will eqip yo to work independently, liaising directly with schools.

What yo will responsible for:

Work as part of a team delivering road safety interventions, raising awareness, edcating and behavioral change sessions to children and adlts in primary school settings.

Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with partner organisations, instittions and schools.

Record data from visits and evalation of the sessions delivered.

Management of Health and safety for the activities ndertaken.

nderstanding of safegarding principles and the ability to follow safegarding policies, procedres, and reporting protocols.

Essential

Fll K driving license and is willing to travel.

Experience of edcation / training.

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Otlook and online meeting platforms eg Zoom or MS Teams).

Good commnication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable

Experience or knowledge of Road Safety or Highways.

Experience of Health and Safety practice.

nderstanding of behavior change techniqes.

Confidence in delivering edcational interventions to children.
