Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Women's directorate risk and governance team as the Risk and Governance Midwife.

The post holder will support the coordination of risk and governance within the women's services directorate.

The post holder will lead on the coordination of serious incidents, complaints, and audit, ensuring learning is embedded into practice and aligned with national priorities including Ockenden, National reports, the NHS Patient Safety Strategy, and Maternity Incentive Scheme and MBRRACE UK. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams and system partners, you will be responsible for oversight of governance frameworks, support assurance processes, and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

The post holder will play a key role in leadership, development and transformation to support the delivery of the highest possible quality of services for service users through highly developed robust Risk Management & Clinical Governance processes. To work in partnership and in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary services actively learning from clinical incidents or complaints. Participate in service improvement projects or development programmes that contribute to the continued development of women's services, providing both professional and clinical advice as necessary.

Main duties of the job

In liaison with the Women, Children and Specialist Service senior management team; develop, implement, monitor, review and embed strategies and frameworks to underpin the principles of clinical governance in Women's Services, this will include effectively managing clinical risks.

Take the lead in the service to co-ordinate clinical governance activities and clinical risk management.

Provide leadership, guidance and expertise within the multi-professional team for Women's Services for clinical governance and risk management.

Co-ordinate investigations into clinical incidents
