Job description

About the Team:

Warwickshire County Council's Rights of Way Team is looking for a Technical Administrator to support the efficient day-to-day operation of this busy and important public service.

The Rights of Way Team helps manage, maintain and protect Warwickshire's public rights of way network. This role provides essential administrative and technical support to officers working across rights of way, definitive map, enforcement, maintenance, ranger and volunteer coordination functions. This is an opportunity to play an important role in supporting Warwickshire's rights of way network and the communities who use it.

You will be part of a knowledgeable and supportive team, contributing to a service that helps people access and enjoy the countryside while supporting the Council's statutory responsibilities.
About the Role:

As a Technical Administrator, you will act as a first point of contact for customers and provide practical support across a varied workload. You will help operate administrative systems and procedures, maintain accurate records, respond to routine enquiries and support the processing of legal orders affecting the rights of way network.

You will also assist with information gathering, performance reporting, financial administration, correspondence, consultations and meeting support. The role involves working closely with colleagues, elected Members, partners, stakeholders and members of the public, so good communication skills and a professional approach are essential.
What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with good literacy and numeracy skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret information and solve varied problems. You should be confident communicating with a range of people, both verbally and in writing, and able to work under pressure while managing deadlines and interruptions.

You will need to be comfortable using computerised systems, handling information accurately and securely, and working with initiative with limited close supervision. Experience of processing information and undertaking financial administrative tasks would be beneficial. A basic knowledge of public rights of way, highways maintenance, or relevant legislation such as the Highways Act 1980, Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 would be desirable, but is not essential.
Key responsibilities:
• Provide administrative and technical support to the Rights of Way Team.
• Act as a frontline point of contact for customer enquiries, complaints and correspondence.
• Support officers with the processing of legal orders, consultations, committee reports and stakeholder engagement.
• Maintain accurate and secure records and retrieve information promptly when required.
• Use ICT systems effectively to support service delivery and improve efficiency.
• Assist with research, data gathering, performance monitoring and financial administration.
• Help ensure a customer-focused, professional and responsive service.
