Salary Information
The above salary is based on a full time (37 hour) salary. If you are successful in a part time role this will be pro-rata'd to reflect your working hours.
Please note: Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same grade.

What we are looking for: We are looking for proactive, resilient and highly organised individuals to join our Resource and Incident Management team. This is a fast-paced and rewarding role where you will play a vital part in supporting frontline policing by managing resources, monitoring demand and helping to coordinate our response to incidents across Devon and Cornwall.
The successful candidate will be confident making decisions, prioritising competing demands and communicating effectively with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders. You will need to remain calm under pressure, think critically and adapt quickly to changing circumstances while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Working as part of a supportive and dedicated team, you will receive comprehensive training and ongoing development. No two days are the same, and you will be responsible for ensuring the right resources are deployed to the right place at the right time, helping us deliver an effective and efficient service to our communities.
Emotional resilience, sound judgement and strong problem-solving skills are essential for this role. You will regularly deal with complex, time-critical situations and sensitive information, requiring professionalism, discretion and a commitment to delivering the highest standards of service. We are looking for flexible individuals who are open to working shifts, including nights, weekends and some bank holidays.
Role Overview- Starting salary: £40,323 (inclusive of 20% shift allowance)
- Progresses to £44,624 through annual increments and inclusive of 20% shift allowance
- Additional weekend working allowance of up to £2,500 per year (pro rata for part-time staff).
- Must be 18 or over by the start date.
Main Responsibilities- Deploy police officers to routine and emergency incidents.
- Assess risk, prioritise vulnerable individuals and make informed decisions.
- Communicate with officers via police radio systems.
- Assist with taking 999 calls and calls from partner agencies.
- Work in a fast-paced environment where some situations can be distressing.
- Accurately record information while multitasking.

TrainingExternal Candidates:- Initial training consists of 8 weeks at Police Headquarters, Middlemoor, Exeter.
- After this, you will start the RIMO shift pattern.
- You will be assigned a Tutor within Command and Control who will support you through the second phase of your training.
- There is a further 2-week training course at Police Headquarters, Middlemoor, Exeter before returning to Command and Control.
- You must be willing and able to travel to Police Headquarters, Middlemoor, Exeter, regardless of your base station.
- Training dates will be confirmed closer to the time of your conditional offer.
- If you live more than 30 miles from Police Headquarters, Middlemoor, Exeter, you may be eligible for:
- Availability of these travel and accommodation arrangements will be confirmed by the Force.
- No annual leave will be granted for the duration of the training courses due to essential learning. There will be no exceptions to this.
Training courses:The first
training course of 2027 is scheduled to commence on
Monday 4 January 2027. Candidates will be progressed onto this intake subject to the successful completion of all required clearances. Once the vacancies for the January intake have been filled, applicants will be placed into a
suitability pool, and we will keep them updated with details of future training intake dates throughout 2027.
Training for Successful Internal Contact Officer Applicants: Contact Officers applying for the role will be required to complete the RIMO training module. The first course is 01/03/2027, with subsequent courses to be confirmed.
Training for Successful Internal non-CRC Applicants:The full training programme will be required to be completed, as outlined above for External Candidates.
