Job description

The Role

There are 2 permanent roles on offer, both are part-time (21.5 hours per week) & term-time (28 weeks).

Here are the shifts that are on offer:

Shift 1:

Mondays and Tuesdays, 12:15pm-12:00 midnight (includes 1 hour unpaid break)

Shift 2:

Thursdays and Fridays, 12:15pm-12:00 midnight (includes 1 hour unpaid break)

Salary is £16,835 per annum (pro rata £6,057 per annum)

Based in the Fountains Learning Centre within the Directorate of Information Learning & Estates, you will contribute to the provision of the smooth running of library services during afternoons and evenings. You will shelve books and journals and maintain their order, tidy study areas, and aid the Service Desk by supporting users of the building to borrow, return and renew items via the self-service kiosks.

You should be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, including Maths and English. Previous experience of supporting users and providing good customer services is essential as is basic experience and familiarity with IT.

Good interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a small team and the ability to provide a welcoming environment to our diverse range of users are all essential to this role. You must also be able to do manual lifting of resources and manoeuvre trolleys.
