£8,914 to £36,581 per annm (incldes allowance)

Location: Colchester

Working Style: Fixed-base worker

This role will be based on-site at Colchester a five bedded home for yong people between the age of 11-17. Yo will be working as part of a mltidisciplinary team to spport yong people that have experienced trama.

Being a Residential Worker reqires a special kind of person. Day to day yor main focs will be on providing nrtring therapetic care to children who have experienced trama, spporting and caring for them as a parent wold, and each day brings niqe experiences, filled with both highs and lows.

Previos experience of working in a children's home, wold be beneficial however there are many skills that yo might have that wold make yo sitable for the role. It is important to be open minded and have a flexible and adaptable attitde and be able to manage challenges with a calm and patient demeanor. Yo will have an ability/willingness to nderstand and manage challenging behavior inclding aggression and violence sing a range of de-escalation techniqes. Yo will also need to have effective written and verbal commnication skills.

If yo don't already have a Level 3 Diploma yo will need to complete this within years of sccessfl completion of probation period and yo will be spported with this. We will also provide yo with all the training yo need for the role along with good qality, reglar spervision. This, together with the right attitde and access to a fll in-hose indction, will enable yo to start yor career with Essex Conty Concil with confidence.

Yo will work 37 hors per week over a mixtre of early (7:am - 14.3pm) and late (14:pm - 1.3pm) shifts across 7 days a week / 365 days a year working pattern and have every other weekend off.

If shortlisted the interview process will be a one stage process where yo will attend the home for a face-to-face interview.

The salary offered is made p of a basic salary £6,86 to £33,56 perannm and a garanteed allowance of 1% - £,68.6 to £3,35.6 per annm, paid monthly, alongside the basic salary.
