About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join the Faculty of Arts and Sciences as a Research Assistant, supporting an academic-led mixed-methods systematic review exploring surveillance in asylum governance.
The project will build a comprehensive understanding of how surveillance operates within asylum systems and shapes the experiences of people seeking protection.
Working closely with the Principal Investigator, you will undertake database and supplementary literature searches, manage references, screen studies, appraise methodological quality and extract data in line with the agreed review protocol.
You will also contribute to thematic coding, evidence synthesis and the preparation of high-quality outputs, including evidence tables, reports and the systematic review manuscript.
In addition to coordinating project administration and take an active part in project meetings.
This role offers the opportunity to apply your research expertise to a timely area of enquiry while contributing to a rigorous, collaborative project with real social relevance.

About YouAs Research Assistant you will have a relevant degree and a postgraduate qualification that demonstrates your research experience.
As well as experience of systematic reviews, evidence synthesis or structured literature reviews is essential, as is confidence in searching bibliographic databases and producing clear, high-quality written reports.
You will be organised, reliable and able to balance independent working with constructive collaboration. Your strong written and verbal communication skills will help you share complex information clearly, while your attention to detail will support accurate documentation, ethical practice and research integrity.
