About the roleTwo posts are available to develop advanced ultrasound imaging techniques and investigate its clinical and biological applications, based in the Department of Bioe ngineering .
What you would be doingYou will mainly focus on the development and biological and/or clinical evaluation of advanced ultrasound technologies for in vivo imaging of a range of targets including tissue structure, blood flow, and cellular and molecular targets , related to a range of applications in the brain, cancer, cardiovascular system, and endocrine systems. You will be working with other engineers/physicists , and biological and clinical collaborators in a multi-disciplinary environment . You will also be undertaking project management and/or supervising students and is expected to submit publications to refereed journals.
What we are looking forYou should have a first degree in engineering, physics , or a related subject. For PDRA you should also hold, or be about to receive a PhD, and have relevant skills and experience in ultrasound imaging technology development and applications . Any relevant e xperience in ultrasound imaging technological development ( data acquisition, image reconstruction / beamforming, post signal/image processing , and simulation ) , computing and handling large datasets would be desirable. You will be expected to play an active role in the group, writing papers and giving presentations, helping to write grant proposals, mentoring students and setting an example for others.
