Join our team at Clayfields House as a Relief Receptionist. Be the first point of contact for visitors and help keep our reception running smoothly with essential admin and clerical support in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Are you looking for a rewarding position where your skills can make a positive impact? Clayfields House is a secure children's home caring for young people aged 10 to 18 years. In this role, you will help deliver excellent customer care through reception and switchboard services, ensuring enquiries are handled efficiently and professionally. Your organisational abilities, word processing experience, and calm approach will contribute directly to the safe and effective day-to-day operation of our home.

As a member of the relief reception staff, you may be called on to help cover part of a daytime shift or covering evening and/or weekend for annual leave and other absences which may be at short notice

As a Relief Receptionist/Clerical Assistant, your duties will include:
  • Welcoming visitors and clients with a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answering phone calls and directing them to the appropriate staff.
  • Performing general clerical tasks, including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
  • Maintaining a calm and organised reception area.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks as needed to support the team.
  • Covering shifts during evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.

To succeed in this role, you should have:
  • Strong customer care skills to engage with clients and staff courteously.
  • Good organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in word processing and basic computer skills.
  • The ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and a willingness to help others.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively, both in person and on the phone.
  • Is adaptable and ready to respond to changing situations.

As an employee of Nottinghamshire County Council, you will benefit from:
  • A comprehensive induction programme.
  • Access to significant training, supervision, and development opportunities, including enrolment on a relevant management qualification.
  • A supportive and enthusiastic team environment.
  • Participation in the local government pension scheme with a 6.5% employer contribution.

Clayfields House is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive workplace where everyone is valued. If you are ready to contribute to our mission of offering the highest standards of care, we would love to hear from you!
