British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for an exceptional Project Manager to join our 20-person strong team within the Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation Programme. BAS delivers and enables world-leading interdisciplinary research in the Polar Regions. We employ experts from many different professions to carry out our Science as well as keep the lights on, feed the research and support teams and keep everyone safe!

You'll be joining our Project Management Office who deliver the Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation Programme, a suite of projects focussed on maintaining our air capability, upgrading and improving our infrastructure and decarbonising our Antarctic estate.

You'll be responsible for the delivery of the redevelopment of Signy Research Station as a zero-emission station with reduced maintenance and operating costs.

Within the role, there will be an opportunity to develop both your people, project and contract management skills. We will support your professional development through internal and external training courses as well as providing mentoring opportunities.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for the successful delivery of the Signy Redevelopment Project

• Responsible for the contract administration of the MEC4 TSC Task Orders with the Technical Advisor and the NEC4 PSSC Time Charge Orders and the ECI Work Orders with the Construction Partner

• Coordinate the Employer Review processes for the Project

• Manage inputs from other AIMP team members and the wider BAS team as required for the Project

Current projects the team are working on include the Rothera Modernisation Project currently constructing, a new science and operations facility which will modernise our operations and replace our aging infrastructure. The Rothera Renewable Energy Project aims to decarbonise our main station through the introduction of renewable energy technology, energy management systems, and a reduction in our energy use.

For the role of Project Manager - Signy we are looking for somebody who has:

• A construction, engineering or environmentally related degree

• Recent multi-year experience of delivering construction-bases projects using PRINCE2 methodology (or similar)

• Experience of delivering projects in complex environments with multiple stakeholders

• Site supervision experience on construction projects with significant building and or building services elements
