Programme Manager/Director - Navy Projects

Tetra Tech are one of the Ministry of Defence's leading suppliers of professional services and have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team to lead and develop our Navy portfolio. We have a large and experienced Defence team, and you will be joining an established governance structure to lead and continue to develop our delivery of Navy projects, winning of new work, and contribute to our wider Defence strategy. You can make an impact in this new leadership role and there is ample opportunity for both personal and professional development.

You will have experience of project, programme or portfolio management, and will have experience working in a Defence environment and experience of the Royal Navy or Royal Navy capital projects. You will be collaborative and able to build solid and lasting business relationships.

You will support wider delivery and business development across defence and wider sector initiatives.

This role will be focused on key naval strategic hubs and may suit flexible working.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop Navy portfolio with key Defence clients

• Manage relationships with Senior Navy stakeholders

• Manage the portfolio , and Project Managers, of Navy projects

• Identify new business opportunities (New projects, new clients and cross-selling services)

• Contribute to the creation and delivery of the wider Defence strategy

• Ensure successful delivery to client requirements, time, cost and quality standards

• Provide advice on the management of projects

• Risk and change management

• Chairing project progress meetings and project reviews

• Responsible for the financial management of the portfolio, including accounting, costing and billing

• Ensuring internal governance is adhered to

• Programming of works and resource management

• Manage and support a team, including people management

• Supporting the team's professional development

• Support other Defence and non-Defence work as needed

• Experience working in partnership with the Navy

• Experience handling and developing a portfolio of projects

• Experience working in a sensitive and secure project environment

• Understanding of construction contracts

• Business development experience

• Excellent communicator

• Ability to obtain Security Clearance up to the Developed Vetting level

• Flexibility for travel
