We are recruiting a Principal Procurement Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council. Working hours: 37 hours per week

This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation.
We pay an attractive salary of £44,253 - £47,665 and offer access to training and development opportunities. Under the general direction of the Procurement and Information Governance Services Manager and the Commercial Lead, Procurement & Collaboration, the post holder will be responsible for:
Leading procurement exercises and contract management activities on behalf of Infrastructure, Waste and Environment, and Regulatory Services, in accordance with the Council's procurement Forward Work Programme.
Providing line management, support and professional development to Procurement Officers and Buyer Assistants.
Leading the implementation, interpretation and application of UK and Welsh Government procurement legislation, ensuring compliance and best practice across the Council.
Supporting the delivery of the Council's Standing Orders for Contracts, the 5-Year Socially Responsible Procurement and Contract Management Strategy, and wider corporate objectives, while actively promoting and championing local and national policies, priorities and initiatives.
For the role, we ask that you have: - Full Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or other recognised qualification.
- In depth knowledge of the UK Public Contract Regulations.
- Experience of planning and developing contract arrangements.
- Proven experience at a senior level within a purchasing organisation.
