A project called Bringing Back Burbot has been obtained from Natural England through the Species Recovery Programme (SRP).

A B7 PDRA, Clare Collins, will undertake a national burbot feasibility inventory across the historical range of burbot to identify and prioritise sites for further habitat suitability assessments. The role will inform site-specific suitability assessments and will help produce nationally applicable reintroduction guidance.
