Job description

JOB PURPOSE/ROLE
Our global Portfolio Management department is seeking a portfolio analyst to work in the Portfolio Analytics team. In this role you will support the Head of Portfolio Analytics and other team members in developing a global portfolio management framework to support board decisions and in running ad-hoc and regular reporting and analysis to support portfolio steering.

The Portfolio Analytics team is part of CUO Portfolio Management at AGCS and is responsible for global, cross LoB topics and for driving the use of analytics within portfolio management. CUO Portfolio Management is a recently created business function who partner with the LoBs through the provision of in-depth profitability understanding. As well as fostering collaboration and best practice sharing across all the AGCS lines, Portfolio Management provide a cross LoB perspective to the Board to support strategic decision making. The team is spread across London, Munich, Bucharest, Chicago and New York.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Contribute to portfolio composition projects to help shape the AGCS strategy.
•Run regular monitoring and analysis processes spanning data collection & validation, technical analysis and development of first recommendations.
•Help embed portfolio management concepts within AGCS through contributing to the development of training modules for the AGCS Underwriting Academy.

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Required experience/education:
•General insurance experience in a quantitative role.
•Actuarial background or other industry qualification an advantage.

Technical skills:
•Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze and interpret data to identify business needs and potential solutions.
•Firm understanding of relevant technical and financial KPIs and analysis
•Strong computer skills, particularly Excel, VBA and SQL.
•Rigorous focus on quality and accuracy of work delivered.

Personal skills:
•Strong results orientation with a proven track-record of managing on-time deliverables.
•Desire to be involved in wider corporate topics and in high-level strategic issues.
•Willing to work in an international environment. Experience of working with colleagues located in different countries an advantage.
