Job summaryImperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is recruiting enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Senior Pharmacy Assistants to join the Pharmacy Teams.
About the Role
As part of the Pharmacy Dispensary and Distribution Team, you will:
- Support the delivery of a high-quality, patient-focused pharmacy service.
- Assist with robotic dispensing of medicines.
- Provide stock management services for wards and clinics.
- Support the work of the pharmacy stores department.
- Contribute to the efficient supply and distribution of medicines across the Trust.
- Help ensure safe and effective patient care through pharmacy operations.

Main duties of the job- To assist in the provision of a high quality, patient focused dispensing service to patients of the Trust and associated hospitals.
- To assist in the provision of a high quality 'topping up' and 'self-ordering' distribution service of pharmaceutical supplies to wards, clinics and associated areas.
- To assist in the provision of a high quality stores service to the dispensary, wards, clinics and associated areas.
- To ensure that stock levels for 'topped up' areas are appropriate and that the stock is in date and adequately rotated.
- In association with the senior technician, ward/department manager and specialist pharmacists to ensure that stock lists are updated and adequately reflect the needs of the area.

Person Specification Education / Qualifications Essential - GCSE in Maths and English (minimum grade 4)
Desirable - NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent e.g. Boots, Buttercups, NPA) Note: NVQ2 must be achieved within 12 months of commencement of course.
Experience Essential - Able to work with computers
- Experience working in a hospital or customer orientated environment
Desirable - Experience using CMM system
- Experience with Automated Dispensing Systems (Robot)
- Experience working in a community or hospital pharmacy, or dispensing GP practice
Skills/knowledge/ abilities Essential - Able to work both alone and within a team
- Good ability to organise and prioritise work
- Able to recognise the limits of own competence and escalate to senior member of the team
- Demonstrates awareness of and commitment to the Clinical Governance and quality agenda
Desirable - A good understanding of Microsoft Office programs
