Peripatetic Cook Supervisor Grade 6, 35 hours per week, Term time Grade 6 - £29,071.00 for 35 hours per week term time only for XX weeks per annum equating to £XXXXX pro rata rising to XX weeks, £XXXXX pro rata per annum after 5 years' service.

We are seeking a highly motivated Peripatetic Cook Supervisor to provide supervisory cover across a range of school kitchens and catering establishments throughout the county. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, can adapt quickly to different environments and is committed to maintaining excellent catering standards.
About the Role As a Peripatetic Cook Supervisor, you will be deployed to different school catering locations to provide essential cover during periods of staff absence, vacancies or increased service demand. You will lead kitchen teams, oversee day-to-day catering operations and ensure the consistent delivery of safe, nutritious and appealing meals to pupils and customers.
The role requires flexibility, excellent organisational skills and the ability to quickly establish service continuity in different settings across the county.
Key Responsibilities You will:
- Supervise and coordinate catering staff, allocating duties and ensuring high standards of performance.
- Organise and oversee food preparation, cooking and service delivery.
- Maintain compliance with food hygiene, allergen management and health and safety legislation.
- Manage stock control, ordering and resource allocation.
- Oversee cashless payment systems and associated financial controls.
- Support service improvement initiatives and promote excellent customer care.
- Ensure appropriate staff training and induction requirements are completed.
- Liaise effectively with school staff, suppliers and the Catering Area Supervisor.
About You We are looking for someone who has:
Essential Requirements - NVQ Level 3 in Catering (or equivalent qualification and relevant experience).
- Level 3 Food Safety/Food Hygiene qualification and allergen training.
- Knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety and allergen legislation.
- Experience of producing meals at scale within a catering environment.
- Strong supervisory and people management skills.
- Excellent cooking skills and a commitment to quality.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- The ability and willingness to work across multiple catering locations.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Desirable - Experience within a school or local authority catering environment.
- Welsh language skills.
