INTERNAL VACANCY The role requires you to be responsible for supervising and allocating the Business Support Assistants workflow. Ensuring the delivery of a high-quality payroll, you will need to ensure all processes are executed appropriately and in a timely manner.
As the first line payroll expert you will be the escalation point to resolve complex payroll issues while continuously looking to improve operational processes.
You will be required to lead, support and train staff in all aspects of payroll and pensions procedures as required.
The role requires you to build and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers.
The successful candidate will be required to have a sound knowledge of CYC HR policies, additionally a strong understanding is required in relation to absence, pay, pensions and rewards.
A high level of accuracy with an attention to detail and a methodical approach to work is required in addition to analytical and problems solving skills. You will also have the ability to understand and communicate relevant technical issues in a manner that can be easily be understood.
The successful candidate will have good oral and written communications skills, this is in addition to, ICT skills, including excel and the iTrent payroll system.
You must be highly organised with the ability to prioritise your own workload, alongside the workload of the team, often with conflicting deadlines and timescales.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
