Job description

We're a building society not a bank. Our customers are members of our Society and now more than ever they need our help. You'll use your customer service skills to guide them through these difficult times over the phone or online. As a designated keyworker you'll be office-based but there's plenty of room to keep two metres from colleagues and our excellent cleaners are working hard to keep us all safe.

What you'll be doing

Handling a range of inbound calls, you'll play a pivotal role when it comes to supporting our members. But, you'll do more than just communicate; you'll advise, dipping into your empathy, and ability to help members get the right outcome for them.

About you

If you've got a customer service background, if you're a confident communicator and looking to take on a new challenge in an established business, there's really no better place for you. As a Customer Service Advisor at Nationwide, you'll be making our customers' lives easier and helping them to make the big decisions for their future.

A starting salary between £17,000 - £18,500 (pro rata), depending on your customer service experience.

The extras you'll get

Here, you'll be valued, recognised and rewarded. We aim to give all our people a good work-life balance, so you'll have access to your working schedule in advance. We also offer life insurance, a company-contributing pension and an excellent recognition and rewards scheme. For helping us do the right thing for our members, you'll get:
  • a personal pension (most people put in 7% of their salary which we'll top up by a further 16%)
  • up to two days of paid volunteering a year
  • buying or selling holiday (25 days holiday)
  • the chance to buy things like dental cover vouchers for you and your family.

Why work at Nationwide?

Nationwide is the world's largest building society. But, however large we grow, we will never lose sight of what makes us different: our commitment to our members and to building our society in the right way. Our goal is to be more than a business. We want to be known as an organisation that is always open, honest and trustworthy, where people are helped, supported and loyal. That's as true for our employees as it is for our members. Help us build on our values and we'll help you build an amazing career.
