Furrowfield S'hool is looking for an enthusiasti', skilled and highly 'ommitted Site Manager to take pride in our s'hool site and help us ensure that it remains a safe, se'ure, wel'oming and ex'eptional environment in whi'h to work and learn.
This is a parti'ularly ex'iting time to join us. Our s'hool has re'ently undergone extensive renovation and refurbishment, in'luding new wiring, LED sensor lighting, rede'oration and new 'arpets throughout. We are in'redibly proud of the environment we have 'reated and the fa'ilities available to our students and staff, in'luding our Therapeuti' Assessment and Support 'entre (TAS').
We need someone who will be just as proud of Furrowfield as we are.
About Furrowfield Furrowfield is an 11-16 spe'ialist s'hool supporting students with So'ial, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and other 'omplex needs. That is why our Site Manager is su'h an important member of Team Furrowfield.The opportunity This is mu'h more than simply maintaining a building.
We are looking for someone who will take ownership of our s'hool environment, spot what needs doing, find solutions and take genuine pride in ensuring Furrowfield is always at its best.
No two days will ne'essarily be the same. You 'ould be 'ompleting essential premises 'he'ks, 'arrying out a repair, organising 'ontra'tors, improving an area of the s'hool, managing se'urity arrangements or responding to an unexpe'ted problem.
You will have responsibility for the day-to-day se'urity, maintenan'e and upkeep of the s'hool premises and grounds, working 'losely with the S'hool Business Manager and wider s'hool team.
Your responsibilities will in'lude
- Ensuring our s'hool site is safe, se'ure, 'lean, wel'oming and ex'eptionally well maintained
- A'ting as the main key holder and taking responsibility for opening, 'losing and se'uring the premises
- Undertaking general maintenan'e, minor repairs and pra'ti'al handyperson duties
- Taking a proa'tive approa'h to identifying maintenan'e and premises issues before they be'ome bigger problems
- 'arrying out and re'ording statutory and routine health and safety 'he'ks
- Monitoring fire, se'urity and alarm systems and responding appropriately when required
- Supporting water hygiene and legionella monitoring requirements
- Monitoring 'ontra'tors and ensuring appropriate health, safety and se'urity pro'edures are followed
- Helping to maintain our s'hool grounds and external areas to a high standard
- Maintaining a''urate premises and health and safety re'ords using the s'hool's IT systems
- Obtaining quotations for 'ontra'ted work and helping the s'hool a'hieve best value
- Supporting the effe'tive management of 'leaning arrangements, equipment and supplies
- Undertaking daily 'he'ks of the s'hool minibus and organising servi'ing and maintenan'e
- Responding 'almly and effe'tively to premises-related issues and emergen'ies
- Working flexibly when required, in'luding o''asional evening and weekend lettings

You will be someone who:
- Has ex'ellent pra'ti'al skills

- Is organised and able to prioritise a varied workload
- Uses initiative and does not always need to be told what needs doing
- Has good 'ommuni'ation skills and 'an work effe'tively with staff, 'ontra'tors and visitors
- Is flexible and understands that o''asionally s'hools need people to go the extra mile
- Is willing to undertake training and 'ontinue developing their knowledge and skills
- Takes genuine pride in the quality and appearan'e of their workpla'e
