Junior Sister/Charge Nurse

Department Ophthalmology

Band 6 £39,959 - £48,117 per annum pro rata

27 hours per week ,all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

The eye clinic is an offsite facility in central Milton Keynes. It is an extremely busy department with clinics, procedure rooms, and theatre on siteAn opportunity has arisen for a Junior Sister, who would be expected to have strong ophthalmic skills and a sound knowledge base of ophthalmology.You will be part of a friendly, supportive, nursing team who provide excellent nursing care.If you are, enthusiastic, dynamic, patient focused, a team player with a good work ethic, then we would like to hear from you.Informal visits are strongly encouraged.

To provide effective, professional and managerial leadership to staff.To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care.To supervise and develop the knowledge and skills of junior staff.To initiate/ facilitate developments in nursing in partnership with the ward manager.To be the ward representative in the absence of the ward manager. To work autonomously within their scope of professional conduct and in line with Trust policiesTo assist the Senior Sister/ charge nurse in the review of nursing practice and service delivery.Provide clinical expertise in all the subspecialities.To role model high standards of nursing care and professionalism
