An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join Nottinghamshire County Council's Children's Homes Service.

Based at Caudwell House (located in Southwell), with regular support provided to The Big House (located in Edwinstowe), you'll work across two specialist children's disability homes that provide high-quality residential care and short breaks for children and young people with a range of complex physical, learning and health needs.

As part of our dedicated multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in helping children and young people achieve the best possible outcomes by providing specialist Occupational Therapy assessment, intervention and advice to maximise their independence, participation and quality of life.

The role is 24 hours a week, including some evenings and Saturdays. You will receive enhanced pay for any Saturdays worked and day-to-day support from the Registered Manager, Duty Managers and wider team. You will also benefit from professional supervision and ongoing professional development through our Occupational Therapy colleagues within the Disability Family Support Service.

About The Role

As our Occupational Therapist, you will:

• Complete specialist Occupational Therapy assessments.
• Recommend equipment, seating and postural care solutions.
• Support children to maximise their independence and participation in everyday activities.
• Develop and review person-centred care plans.
• Provide advice, guidance and training to residential staff.
• Work closely with families, education, health colleagues and partner agencies.
• Help ensure children receive the highest quality care and support.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

• Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Experience & Knowledge

• A minimum of 3 years experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist
• Passionate about working with children and young people, ideally with experience in this area.
• Knowledge and/or experience of equipment, seating and postural care solutions.
• Takes a person-centred approach to assessment and intervention.
• Understands the statutory legislation underpinning Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention within children's social care.
• Awareness of sensory processing needs (desirable but not essential).

Skills & Personal Qualities

• A reflective practitioner who is committed to professional supervision and continuous development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
• Able to effectively manage and prioritise a varied workload.
• Driven to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people
