Are you a creative and compassionate Occupational Therapist looking to make a real impact? Join our Maximising Independence Service (MIS) Community Reablement Team! We support adults of all ages and abilities, focusing on early resolution and prevention. Your role will be to empower individuals to achieve their goals and promote their independence and wellbeing. As an Occupational Therapist, you will:
  • Use a strengths-based conversation style to help people ascertain what a good life looks like to them
  • Set short-term goals and identify support to achieve those goals.
  • Develop tailored reablement programmes.
  • Provide information, guidance and advice to individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Work alongside a team of reablement workers to coordinate care and support.
  • Mentor and support others in the team.
  • Have opportunity to contribute to team training, project work and service development.

To apply for this role, you will need:
  • A recognised Occupational Therapy qualification.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
  • Knowledge of community care services and relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014.
  • Has a full driving licence and access to transport. Disabled employees who are unable to drive because of their disability will be able to use taxis to carry out their duties.

  • Experience in managing a caseload and working in multidisciplinary settings
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills to build relationships.
  • Is committed to excellent customer care and has a high level of personal drive.
  • Can problem-solve and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Is good at motivating others and able to support other through change.
  • Is adaptable and resilient, able to manage competing demands effectively.
