Job summary

Are you an Occupational Therapist who wants to make a meaningful difference to adults in your community? Join our Adult Community Team in Bracknell and help residents live as independently, safely and confidently as possible.

In this role, you will be part of a supportive, multi-professional statutory team where your skills, ideas and professional judgement will be valued. You will carry out holistic assessments, deliver strength-based interventions and work creatively with residents, families and partners to achieve positive outcomes. With varied work, regular supervision and ongoing professional development, you will have the chance to broaden your expertise while doing work that has real purpose.

Main duties of the job

As a qualified Occupational Therapist, you will have experience of working with adults and be confident in assessing a range of complex needs, including manual handling situations. You will be passionate about strength-based practice, empowering people to achieve the best possible outcomes while promoting independence and wellbeing wherever possible.

Building positive relationships with residents, families, colleagues and partner organisations comes naturally to you and you enjoy working collaboratively to deliver person-centred solutions. Confident in managing a varied caseload, you make informed professional decisions and adapt your approach to meet the needs of adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, dementia and older people.

A commitment to continuous professional development is important to you and you are keen to broaden your knowledge, embrace new ways of working and contribute to positive outcomes for residents.

About us

At Bracknell Forest, we are committed to helping residents remain independent for as long as possible through creative, preventative and person-centred approaches. Our Adult Social Care service works together as one, with three closely connected teams that share knowledge, expertise and a strong sense of collaboration.

You will be based within our Adult Community Team (ACT), working alongside a skilled multi-disciplinary team and closely with colleagues across health, social care and the voluntary sector to achieve the best outcomes for residents. We believe in supporting each other through regular supervision, multidisciplinary team meetings and opportunities to broaden your experience across the service. Rotational opportunities between teams may also be available, helping you build a wide range of skills and experience.

Based at our offices in Market Street, Bracknell, we offer flexible hybrid working, combining office, home and community-based working to support both our residents and our colleagues.
