Join our Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT team and play a vital role in delivering outstanding patient care.

As a Clinical Imaging Assistant, you will support patients throughout their diagnostic journey, helping to ensure a safe, efficient and compassionate experience from referral through to scan. With demand for Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT services growing, this is an exciting opportunity to join a specialised area of healthcare and develop valuable clinical skills.

Working closely with radiographers, technologists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will greet and prepare patients for their scans, complete pre-scan checks, support clinical procedures and assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the department. No previous Nuclear Medicine experience is required, as full training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Imaging Assistant is appointed to support the nuclear medicine technologists or radiographers in a clinical and clerical capacity.The post holder will meet patients and run through a checklist to confirm they are suitable for scanning as well as preparing the department before and after use.
What you'll be doing
  • Welcoming and supporting patients attending for Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT scans.
  • Explaining procedures and helping patients feel comfortable and informed.
  • Performing pre-scan checks, including consent, glucose monitoring and cannulation (training provided).
  • Assisting radiographers and technologists with clinical lists and patient preparation.
  • Completing essential administrative and record-keeping tasks.
  • Managing stock, ordering supplies and receiving deliveries.
  • Supporting patients within the department and across the hospital as required.
