Essex Conty Concil (ECC) operates one of the largest Msic Hbs in the K throgh fnding from Arts Concil England and is committed to broadening and enhancing access to high-qality msic edcation for children and yong people across Essex.

As part of this ambition, Essex Msic Service is seeking to appoint an experienced and inspirational Area Manager for the Soth Greater Essex Msic Hb region. This pivotal leadership role will work closely with schools, commnities, partners and colleages to ensre msic provision is inclsive, accessible, sstainable and responsive to local needs.

The post plays a key role in delivering the wider strategic objectives of the Msic Service, helping to improve otcomes for children and yong people while strengthening engagement with local commnities and stakeholders across the region.

The Role

The Area Manager is responsible for the operational leadership and development of msic edcation provision across the Soth Greater Essex Msic Hb area. The sccessfl candidate will ensre high-qality delivery of services, responding to local priorities and spporting the needs of schools, commnities, children and yong people.

Candidates shold be able to demonstrate a strong track record of achieving positive otcomes throgh partnership working, managing and developing staff, and coaching and mentoring msicians and edcators. They will also have experience of identifying local needs and translating strategic priorities into effective and sstainable msic provision.

The sccessfl applicant will be an experienced leader and practitioner, with the ability to deliver reslts within challenging financial constraints while spporting the development of others.

This is a fll-time role, with an expectation to work alongside the senior leadership team at an office base one day per week.

Accontabilities

Provide leadership for msic service delivery across a designated area, ensring high-qality teaching, learning, participation, and progression opportnities.

Take responsibility for the line management and spport of local msic ttors, enabling the delivery of a portfolio of work, engaging ttors in professional development opportnities and spporting the wellbeing of all members of staff.

Contribte to the development of the Msic Service's strategic plans and priorities and translate all plans into effective local delivery.

Ensre that all msic ttors within a region have been qality assred following the frameworks and processes set ot for se across the whole Msic Service provision.

Take responsibility for Health and Safety and other compliance areas across a region in collaboration with the Designated Safegarding Lead within the Msic Service.

Create and maintain a Regional Engagement Plan that ses reglar local insight and intelligence to help shape ftre activity and allocation of investment, create annal development plans and to highlight priority areas for progressing the local msic provision.

Maintain and increase by-in to services offered by the Msic Service throghot the commnity provision offered in the local area.

Identify and develop local Hb partnerships, ensring activities are wide ranging and diverse to frther enhance the local msical offer.

Work collaboratively to spport contywide and cross area projects and events inclding concerts, holiday corses, residentials, tors, festivals and conferences.

Ensre compliance with safegarding, health and safety, data protection and organisational policies.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience

Edcated to degree level or eqivalent by extensive experience

Strong nderstanding of msic edcation practice, crriclm development and progression pathways for children and yong people.

Knowledge of the national msic edcation landscape, inclding the National Plan for Msic Edcation, Msic Hbs, and relevant DfE and Arts Concil England priorities.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop staff and partners with excellent commnication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to bild prodctive relationships with schools, partners and stakeholders at all levels.

Significant experience of delivering or leading msic edcation programmes in school and/or commnity settings.

Experience of managing and developing staff, inclding performance management and professional development.

Experience of monitoring qality, evalating impact and sing data to drive improvement.

Experience of leading change and service improvement initiatives.
