The group We are seeking an outstanding music lawyer to join our Media & Entertainment group. This is a highly sought after position working alongside partners who are ranked as experts by the independent legal directories. Our clients range from major and independent labels, publishers, major worldwide artists, emerging talent, song writers, producers and digital music platforms.
The role Our work encompasses:
- Recording, distribution, publishing, managing and production agreements
- Live events
- Merchandising
- Sponsorship, endorsement and branding arrangements
- Content licensing for new digital music services
- Acquisition and exploitation of music rights in film, television, games and theatre
- Corporate/business structuring
The successful candidate is likely to be a Senior Associate with 5 to 7 years PQE. Strong advisory skills, a pragmatic and commercial manner as well as strong drafting skills and negotiating experience are essential. The successful candidate will have a real understanding of the music industry and the challenges it faces today. They will also have the desire and ability to work with other departments and take an active role in developing the practice. We are open to meeting candidates currently working inhouse provided they have the relevant experience and necessary skills to perform the role.
