Salary £13.45 pr hour I Permanent I Part time, 5 hours per week I Rossendale area

A Mobile School Crossing Patrol is required in the Rossendale area, to act as a Mobile Relief providing cover for the fixed-point school crossing patrols due to absence and to cover vacant posts.

The applicant must have access to their own transport, business insurance and be able to travel to any of the crossings at short notice on a shift-by-shift basis. The crossing times vary but are generally in the region of 08:30 to 09:00 and 15:10 to 15:40, Monday to Friday during term time, which is 38 weeks a year. Pay is FLW, currently £13.45 an hour. Payment is 5 hours a week with additional payment based on duty performed. Uniform and training are provided.

You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use. However, we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability.

Candidates will be required to be DBS checked and satisfy medical suitability for the role along with providing 2 references.

Local Government Reorganisation

The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.

If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.
