Media Teacher
Department: Creative and Digital Industries
Salary: £30,702 to 34,484 per annumContract Type: Permanent Full time 37 hours per week

The Opportunity

Barnsley College is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and industry-focused Teacher in Digital & Creative Media to join our thriving Digital & Creative Industries department.

This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and develop the next generation of digital and creative professionals through the delivery of engaging and innovative teaching across a range of media programmes. Working within a dynamic and supportive team, you will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to learners studying vocational and higher education qualifications.

You will teach across Digital & Creative Media courses, supporting learners to develop specialist media skills, creativity and technical knowledge through a variety of exciting projects and industry-relevant activities.

You will contribute to curriculum planning, course delivery, assessment and quality assurance processes while creating an outstanding learning experience that raises aspirations and supports learner success.

Working closely with colleagues, employers and external partners, you will help ensure our curriculum remains relevant, engaging and aligned to the evolving needs of the Digital and Creative Industries sector.

About You

You will be a passionate and knowledgeable media professional with experience of teaching, assessing or delivering learning within an educational setting.

You will have a strong understanding of Digital & Creative Media and be confident using Adobe Creative Cloud software.

You will be able to deliver engaging and effective learning to a diverse range of students, supporting them to achieve their qualifications and progress into higher education or employment.

You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills and be committed to providing an outstanding learner experience.

You will be enthusiastic about developing innovative teaching practices, building relationships with employers and ensuring learners gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed within the creative sector.

Below is a list of some of the key skills, qualifications and experience we are seeking for this exciting opportunity.

Required
  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject.
  • Teaching qualification (must be willing to work towards PGCE if Level 6 not already held)
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification)
  • Experience of Adobe Creative Cloud software.
  • Experience of working within an education setting in a teaching/ assessment capacity (within last 2 years).
  • Knowledge of specialist Software: Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience of delivering learning to a range of learners.
  • Experience of developing learning materials
  • A successful record of working with employers to inform curriculum planning.
  • Experience of delivering learning to a range of learners.
  • Experience of working within the Digital/ Creative industries.
