The Opportunity

We are seeking a Manager, Business Tax to join our growing Tax team in Jersey. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Manager, Business Tax and work closely with colleagues across service lines to deliver high-quality outcomes for our clients.

Each manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of business tax clients addressing both their tax compliance and advisory needs. Each manager will also be responsible for ensuring appropriate financial metrics are delivered on their clients, developing the KPMG tax team, focusing process improvement, and will participate in the market from a business development perspective.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Taking ownership of a large business tax compliance portfolio, focused on efficiency of process and accuracy of delivery;
  • Drafting and reviewing local and international tax advice (including economic substance rules) to structures established in the Crown Dependencies;
  • Promoting KPMG's tax compliance and advisory services in the CD markets
  • Mentoring and coaching more junior members of the team, including providing feedback and relevant training; including acting as performance manager to a number of appraisees


Requirements:

We would like to engage with candidates who have the following:
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CTA, CPA or equivalent)
  • At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in either a UK, UK based (e.g. Ireland, New Zealand, Malta) or Crown Dependencies tax environment
  • Experience within a professional services environment and familiarity with client onboarding and risk management procedures, ideally in a regulated financial services environment..
  • Strong technical capability and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadline.
  • Experience of managing a portfolio of clients
  • Experience of coaching and developing junior team members
  • Experience of managing the financial performance of engagements
  • An interest and desire to be involved in activities in the market to help grow both your personal and the KPMG brand.
