We're looking for a motivated and capable individual to join our team as a Maintenance Surveyor. At Southern Housing, we are committed to ensuring our homes are maintained to the highest possible standards, while providing residents, leaseholders and other stakeholders with a responsive and high-quality service. This role plays an important part in helping us create communities where everyone has a safe home in a place where they are proud to live.

Reporting to the Contract Manager, you'll be responsible for providing a responsive repairs and void surveying service across Southern Housing's owned and managed properties. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Managing responsive repairs, taking corrective action where required and providing regular progress updates to the Contract Manager.
• Analysing building defects, preparing detailed specifications and recommending appropriate remedial repairs in line with current legislation and building standards.
• Monitoring the performance of contractors and consultants, carrying out post-inspections and quality-control checks to ensure work is completed to the required standard.
• Managing budgets, quotations and estimates in accordance with procurement procedures, while ensuring value for money is achieved.
• Maintaining accurate records and providing a high standard of communication and customer care, including taking ownership of complaints and providing written responses where required.

You'll also contribute to continuous improvement by identifying more efficient and effective ways of delivering the service, recommending improvements to procedures, processes and quality controls, and sharing technical advice with colleagues.

This role will be based from our Hastings office, with hybrid working available where appropriate and as agreed with your manager. You will also be expected to participate in out-of-hours cover when required, in line with the agreed Contract Services rota.
