  • Identify, diagnose and repair faults, and carry out general planned maintenance on electrical services, plant and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, steam-raising plant, air-conditioning and ventilation systems, heating systems, water and drainage systems, macerators, catering equipment, hydrotherapy pool systems and ward equipment.
  • Undertake both reactive and planned maintenance of a more complex nature within the building engineering services relevant to the post holder's core electrical skill.
  • Complete all mandatory training as required.
  • Carry out installations, commissioning and testing of new work associated with the core electrical discipline, and support team members when tasks involve other trades.
  • Liaise with clinical staff to coordinate equipment and plant shutdowns and to arrange maintenance activities.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Relevant NVQ 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent
  • 17th or 18th Edition Requirement for Electrical Installations


Desirable criteria
  • IOSH Working Safely


Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven experience in a service and/or maintenance role
  • Experience of Lone working
  • Experience of working within a team


Desirable criteria
  • Experience in the maintenance of healthcare building services and equipment
  • Experience of on call working


Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Good awareness of health and safety legislation and experience of working to safe systems of work


Desirable criteria
  • In depth working knowledge of building services engineering
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems / BMS systems / standby generators
