Job summaryWorking closely with your fellow colleagues in the Occupational Health Service multidisciplinary team, the role will require that you apply your professional knowledge and skills to contribute to delivering a comprehensive and effective occupational health services ensuring that high professional and quality standards are maintained on a consistent basis and in line with best practice.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be qualified as a Consultant Occupational Health Physician and assist in delivering the range of responsibilities expected from the role. It is anticipatedthat initially duties will primarily consist of delivery of clinical occupational health assessments and that with experience a wider range of activities will be undertaken. The full potential scope of those responsibilities is listed in the following paragraphs.

Person Specification Qualifications & Training Essential - Medical degree (MBChB or equivalent)
- Specialist qualification MFOM or FFOM (or equivalent)
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Engagement in appraisal and revalidation
Desirable - MSc or MD in Occupational Medicine
- On GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT
Experience Essential - Experience managing a multidisciplinary OH team
- Minimum 1 year Occupational Health experience in the NHS
Desirable - Non-NHS Occupational Health experience
- Experience in respiratory medicine, psychiatry, dermatology, or rheumatology
- Breadth of experience in other specialties
Skills & Aptitudes Essential - Appropriate clinical knowledge
- Evidence-based practice
- Clinical risk management knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Teamworking and presentation skills
Desirable - Teaching and educational supervision experience
