Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Full GMC Registration
  • MRCOG or appropriate specialist qualification
  • CCST or equivalent ('equivalence' must be confirmed by PMETB/GMC by date of AAC)
  • Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry via CCT within 6 months of date of the AAC
  • SITM/ATSM - Advanced Labour Ward / High Risk Antenatal


Desirable criteria
  • Other higher degree or diploma (e.g., MD, PhD, FRCS)


Clinical Experience & Training

Essential criteria
  • Approaching independence with complex obstetric care, complex obstetric operating & Labour ward experience
  • Ability to work within acute care team to promote planning and safety


Professional and Multidisciplinary Team Working

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues and within a team.
  • Attendance at MDT meetings
  • Evidence of team leadership


Academic Achievements, Research, Publications

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues and within a team.
  • Willing to participate in audit programmes
  • Good leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work flexibly


Management and Administrative Experience:

Essential criteria
  • Evidence and experience of QI project / Audit / Change initiative


Personal Attributes

Essential criteria
  • Understanding and application of diverse care needs of patients
  • Good communication and prioritisation skills
  • A collegiate approach to care


Personal Circumstances:

Essential criteria
  • Ability and means to meet the travel requirements of the post
  • Residence within 20 miles of base (return to base within 30 minutes if required
  • To be accessible by telephone for on call duties
